The first candidates meeting of the Cambodia Energy Efficiency competition was held on January 19! A special thanks to our candidate Thalias Hospitality for hosting this event at the Topaz restaurant, one of the buildings participating in the competition.

During this first meeting, the candidates had the opportunity to participate in three workshops to discuss the following questions:

• How to understand your building?
• How do you face reluctance?
• What activities have you started with?

There will be a total of 3 candidates meeting during the competition. During these events, we encourage participating organizations to share their experience, best practices, questions, and challenges. We are convinced that this will allow them to progress in the competition, find solutions and come up with new ideas to save energy. All the candidates played the game perfectly yesterday, and we are proud and happy with the dynamics they were able to bring during the different workshops.

Our sponsor Schneider Electric participated in this event to present their company. Schneider Electric’s purpose is to “empower all to make the most of our energy and resources, bridging progress and sustainability for all” and is committed to the environment. During this meeting, the company presented some of their products and solutions to improve the energy efficiency of buildings.

About the CEE Comp: The Cambodia Energy Efficiency Competition is implemented by the ITC and Sevea. It is a local adaptation of the CUBE competition initiated by the French Institute for Building Performance (IFPEB) as a bid to reduce carbon emissions in France. The CEE Comp is implemented in partnership with the EuroCham, EnergyLab, the Liger Leadership Academy, and the IFPEB, as well as with the financial support of Schneider Electric and the National Council for Sustainable Development under the Cambodia Climate Change Alliance Innovation Grant Facility, supported by the European Union, the United Nation Development Program and Sweden.
